On June 19, 2021, we will commemorate the 156 anniversary of Juneteenth, a capstone moment in the emancipation of enslaved Africans in America.
Despite the disruptions of slavery, colonialism and centuries of oppression, the spirit of freedom and our collective kinship is paving the way for us to build bridges and connect Africans on the continent and in the diaspora with descents of enslaved Africans in America through art.
Starting June 13, 2021 to July 11, 2021 we will partner with Studio 2500, an Alabama based gallery to start a cross Atlantic conversation with a group of artists from Accra, Lagos, New York, Houston and Birmingham, by hosting an art exhibition entitled “Kindred Spirit” in Birmingham, Alabama.
